Phu Quoc has become one of Asia’s honeymoon islands: long beaches facing the sunset, a dry season of flat, clear water, and a string of resorts where your villa comes with its own pool. It is especially popular with couples from India — in 2025 it entered the top ten honeymoon destinations searched by Indian travellers on Agoda for the first time, at number six. This page covers where to stay, what to do as a couple, and when to come.

When to come

December to March is the best time for a honeymoon: the driest months, with calm water on the west coast and the clearest sea around the southern islands. November and April are good shoulder months — see Phu Quoc in November. Avoid the Tet holiday (4–10 February 2027) unless you want crowds and peak prices: see Phu Quoc in February. From May to October it rains more and the west-coast sea is rough, but villas are much cheaper. Month by month: weather.

Resorts with private pool villas

Several of the island’s big resorts are made up entirely, or largely, of villas with their own pools. Ratings are from Google Maps (October 2026).

None of the resorts we checked publishes a honeymoon package price; ask for one when you book, and mention that you are on honeymoon, as some resorts add small extras. We could not confirm any adults-only resort on Phu Quoc; despite some booking-site labels, the big resorts all have kids’ clubs. Regent has an adults-only rooftop pool. For all the big resorts, see luxury resorts and where to stay.
