About Duong To
Duong To is a vibrant beach and entertainment region with golden yellow sand beaches, quality dining, shopping, and festivals. The longest beach in the Phu Quoc Special Zone lies along the communes western coast, lined with numerous world class 5 star luxury resorts. Day adventures from the region include visiting a popular waterfall, temple hopping, or working your way down to An Thoi, the commune just south of Duong To, which is home to numerous idyllic islands.
Duong To is the area around Phu Quoc International Airport. It was a commune (xã Dương Tơ) until July 2025, when the whole island became the Phu Quoc Special Zone of An Giang Province, but the name is still used for this part of the island. It is where you find most western amenities, and it is the most visited part of Phu Quoc.
Orientation
The airport sits in the middle of Duong To. North of it is the older part of Long Beach, with places to stay and eat at every price; south of it is the newer resort strip — Sonasea, the InterContinental and the marina — running towards An Thoi.
The eastern section of Dương Tơ is where you will find the temples, waterfalls, and pepper farms. Navigating along highways DT46 & DT47 will take you up and down this more remote part of Duong To Commune.
Planning your time
Want to plant yourself in the sand and have drinks brought to you for a week? Pick a resort, any resort – there’s a wide range from which to choose from along Bai Truong, the luxury beach capital of Phu Quoc. If you would rather go deep though, there is enough in this commune to entertain a curious traveler for a week. Here is the ultimate Dương Tơ tour for someone with an open mind and lots of vacation time. Start by staying at one of the premiere luxury resorts found just south of the airport. Enjoy Phú Quốc’s longest beach and then visit the nearby pearl farms to learn how pearls are harvested in Vietnam. Phu Quoc is known to produce some of the world’s best pearls. Then explore the Ho Quoc Pagoda along the eastern coast, one of the islands most majestic Buddhist temples. Be sure to pack your swimming gear as there is a great beach here at the base of the temple. After experiencing a bit of culture and outdoor time, head over to Long Beach Village and bar hop your way into the sunset before retreating back to your resort.
Regions
Bãi Trường Tourist Complex
Bai Truong is the name for the tourism zone along Long Beach around the airport. It is Phu Quoc’s busiest beach resort area: about 355 hotels, resorts, hostels and guesthouses on Google Maps in October 2026, 14 of them five-star.
Long Beach Village
Long Beach Village is the small backpacker area off Tran Hung Dao Street, near La Veranda, with cheap guesthouses, bars, tour desks, laundry and motorbike rental, and a public path down to the beach.
Bà Kèo
A small coastal area just north of Long Beach Village where you will find some resorts and bars.
Cửa Lấp
The area just south of Long Beach Village which has some of the islands older beach resorts and newer boutique garden resorts located in the communes interior. There are also a few great restaurants located just off Tran Hung Dao Road worth exploring.
Suối Mây
Located in the interior, just north east of the airport and Highway DT47. Suoi May is near the islands local cemetery – Nghia Trang Nhan Dan and just south off the Dien Tien mountain. Suối Mây is an heavily forested area that has a few homes and shops. Suoi May is also home to the Phu Quoc Ridgeback conservation centre.
Suối Lớn
A mixed commercial-residential area on the eastern side of Phu Quoc that is further being developed.
Vịnh Đầm
A working harbour on the east coast, with fishing boats and seafood restaurants on the water. A large port and tourism complex has been planned here for years; check its progress locally before planning around it.
Đường Bào
Đường Bào – Just south of the airport you will find this hamlet which is home to a few mega luxury resorts and villas.
BEACHES
Long Beach
The most popular beach on the island. This long 20 km stretch of yellow sand beach runs up and down the western coastline and is home to the region’s most spectacular international beach resorts, spas, and rooftop bars.
Bà Kèo Beach
The stretch of Long Beach just north of Long Beach Village, in front of La Veranda and the older resorts — quieter than the beach bars further north, with access through the resorts or the public path at Long Beach Village.
Bãi Đầm Beach
This yellow sand wind swept beach is reached on foot from the base of the Ho Quoc Pagoda. It’s a great place to swim and suntan and you will mostly be the only ones here.
Bãi Suối Lớn
an urban beach in a busy area. Lots of trash plagues this beach due to the fact its located next to a village.
SEE & DO
Khu Du Lich Suoi Tranh
A forest stream with a short trail leading up to a waterfall (Suoi Tranh, 4.0 from 606 Google reviews). It is worth the trip in the rainy season, from about June to October; in the dry months the waterfall can be a trickle. Locals picnic here at weekends, and not all of them take their rubbish home.
Sim Wine Factory
Learn how Sim Wine is made and then buy some. Sim Wine is a locally produce product unique to Phu Quoc.
Museum
Coi Nguon Museum, a private collection of the island’s natural and cultural history, built into a resort with a restaurant (3.8 from 566 Google reviews).
Phu Quoc Marina
A coastal area spanning 155 hectares around a few luxury beach resorts that has a sailing club, developed waterfront, restaurants, and shops.
Pearl Farm
Several pearl farms on the southern part of Long Beach show how pearls are farmed and sell jewellery in their showrooms — the biggest is Ngoc Hien Pearl Farm (4.2 from 3,773 reviews). Most island discovery tours stop at one; prices are fixed, but compare before you buy, and be wary of “Phu Quoc pearls” sold cheaply elsewhere. Hung Long Tu
A fantastic Buddhist temple complex set next to the Dien Tien mountain.
Vuon Tien Duc Thanh (Pepper Farm)

Jeep Tours
Phu Quoc Jeep Tours are a unique way to see the islands fantastic countryside and jungle landscape. Some operators will even allow guests to drive. Jeep rentals are also available for the DIY types.

Pearls, leather goods, local handicrafts, pepper and fish sauce products can all be found in Duong To, and much to visitors delight most of these shops accept all the major credit cards however cash is always preferred.
Quoc An Pearl Shopping Mall
In the interior off the road to Ham Ninh, Quoc An Pearl (4.1 from 1,128 reviews) is a showroom where you can see pearl farming and buy pearl jewellery, pepper and dried seafood.
Phu Quoc Airport Kiosks
The Phu Quoc International Airport also has a great selection of local products for sale, but they are priced a bit higher than at other places found around the island. If you are a last minute shopper or forgot to buy something check out the stores near the departure gate before boarding your flight back home.
Where to eat
Duong To has plenty of street food, local restaurants that serve traditional Vietnamese dishes, ice cream and coffee shops galore, and upscale restaurants found at the major beach resort complexes. From Indian food to Sushi, it can all be found here in Duong To.

Ganesh Indian Restaurant
Great for vegetarians and those who do not like seafood or Vietnamese dishes. If you have traveled the world and tried Indian food at other places, you may be disappointed here as the flavors are not bold. This could be because the spices have been altered for tourists or simply lack of access to fresh ingredients.
