Gorgeous Ong Lang Beach (Bai Ong Lang) is located on the west coast of Phu Quoc and it is a popular area to stay if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Long Beach.
Ong Lang Beach is not a continuous beach but rather a series of small sandy breaks in a rugged, rocky shore situated on the western coast of Phu Quoc Island half way between Ganh Dau Village and Duong Dong Town. Here at Ong Lang you can still witness cows roaming the beach, watch fishing boats float around the ocean, and see spectacular sunsets.
The Beach
The sand is yellow in color and the texture of it is of fine-medium grit. The beaches by the resorts are well maintained as most of the resort operators rake and clear the beach of any trash that may wash up. The shore is lined more with poplar trees than coconut trees. You can also find a few myrtle fruit trees in the area as well.
The Ocean
The sea is clear and greenish-blue in color. Depending on the season, the water may be calm or rough. The slope into the beach is low making it easy to enter and exit the ocean. During the start of the peak season, expect to see a few jellyfish in the ocean.

Kayak: You can rent and/or borrow kayaks from few of the resorts found here and explore the coast. If you have the stamina, you can kayak to the Cua Can River and follow the river into the Phu Quoc National Park. You can also kayak to nearby Fingernail Island (Hon Mong Tay).

Pepper Plantations: Nearby Ong Lang Beach and closer to the main road there are a few pepper plantations that you can visit.

- All the resorts and guesthouse that are located on Ong Lang Beach have a restaurant and bar and are a great place to enjoy a cocktail or beer while watching the sun go down. There are also a few local restaurants selling pho, banh mi, and other Vietnamese style fast food located near the public beach access point. In case you get bored of the resort food, you can always ride down to Duong Dong Town proper as it is only 15 minutes away OR head to Cua Can Town for more local food options.

How To Get To Ong Lang Beach
If you are staying at a resort on Ong Lang Beach, most of these places will pick you up from the airport. If you are not planning on staying here, then just head north towards Ganh Dau road and just follow the plethora of hotel/resorts signs directing you to the beach. At Ong Lang Beach, there is a public place to park your motorbike and access the beach.
Driving Instructions To Ong Lang Beach
To get to Ong Lang Beach area from Duong Dong Town you must cross the Duong Dong River and get to Cua Can Road. The Cua Can Road is a well paved road that will take you not only to Ong Lang, but also to Ganh Dau Village at the north.
The following are driving instructions on how to get to Cua Can Road from Duong Dong Town:

Head north along Tran Hung Dao Street. Pass the roundabout, where the Dinh Cau Night Market is located, and soon you will reach an intersection with traffic lights.

The road perpendicular to Tran Hung Dao Street at the intersection is called 30 Thang 4 Street. Here you can either go left, for the more adventurous route, or make a right for the standard route. Taking the city route will save you time. If you take the adventurous route you will see a variety of small markets, pass through Duong Dong’s rural area, and you will also have to navigate through very narrow alleyways. Only Motorbikes and Bicycles can take this route.a) City Route: If you take the standard route, navigate right down 30 Thang 4 Street for a few minutes until you reach the next set of traffic lights. The street perpendicular to 30 Thang 4 Street is known as Hung Vuong Street. Make a left on Hung Vuong Street and then continue north and you will cross a large bridge over Duong Dong River. Once you pass the river you can either continue straight and cut through the old airport to reach Cua Can Road, or you can make a right on Nguyen Trung Truc Street and follow it around the old airport to reach Cua Can Road. We recommend that you cut through the old airport as this is what all the locals do. Just follow the traffic flow.b) Adventurous Route: At the intersection, make a left onto 30 Thang 4 Street and head north on it until you reach Bach Dang Street, which is located by the riverside. Make a left on Bach Dang Street and follow this street until you reach a small bridge. Cross the bridge and navigate through a couple narrow alleyways to reach Tran Phu Street. If you are unsure where to go, just follow the traffic. Head north on Tran Phu Street until you see the old airport on your right hand side. Now here you have a choice, you can either continue north along Tran Phu Street until you reach Cach Mang Thang Tam Street to reach Cua Can Road OR you can drive down the old airport. We recommend driving down the old airport as it is a lot of fun.

Head north on Cua Can Road and just follow the signs to either “Bo Resort, Mango Bay, or Freedomland”. The entrance to these resorts and the beach are accessed via a small road that will be on your left hand side.

If you are planning on just visiting for the day, then you need to head to “Aroma Spa and Resort” or “Coco Palm Resort” as there is a public beach access point there.
