Bai Dai (Bãi Dài, “long beach” — not to be confused with Long Beach in the south-west) runs for several kilometres down Phu Quoc’s north-west coast in Ganh Dau. The sand is soft and golden, the slope into the sea is gentle, and because it faces west, the sunsets are among the best on the island. It is also the beach that has changed most in the last decade: almost all of it is now fronted by large resorts and by the Vinpearl complex of VinWonders, the Safari and Grand World.
That makes the first question a practical one. Visitors who are not staying at a resort regularly write that guards at resort entrances turned them away (2025–2026 reviews on Google Maps), so it pays to know where you can walk onto the sand.
How to get onto the beach
- Grand World beachfront. The public beach at the seaward end of Grand World (Quảng trường biển Grand World, 4.6 on Google Maps from 351 reviews) is the easiest way in. Reviewers describe sun loungers, lifeguards, shade under the casuarina trees and a shallow, gentle entry that suits children.
- Vibe Beach and Sunset Chilll. The beach bars along the Grand World beachfront give direct access to the sand. Several visitors recommend parking a scooter at Vibe Beach and walking five minutes to the left, where the beach is much quieter. At Sunset Chilll, one reviewer noted there is no entry fee and you can use a simple sunbed if you buy a drink.
- As a resort guest. If you stay at one of the resorts on Bai Dai, you have your own stretch of beach.

What to expect
- Prices: one couple paid 50,000 dong for a sunbed with no time limit here in February 2026, a third of what they paid at Khem Beach.
- The sea: calm and swimmable from November to April. From May to October the south-west monsoon brings wind, waves and more debris to the west coast; see our weather guide. One reviewer mentions jellyfish on some days.
- Sunset: the reason many people come. The sun goes down over the sea between about 17:30 and 18:20 depending on the month.
- Water sports: kayaks and stand-up paddleboards can be rented on the beach.
Getting there
Bai Dai is about 30 minutes (23 km) by road from Duong Dong and 45 minutes (33 km) from the airport (OSRM routing estimates). Grab cars come and go all day because of Grand World and VinWonders. If you are on a scooter, follow the signs to Grand World and park near the beachfront.

- Grand World Food Court — 4.9 from 1,774. An air-conditioned food court a short walk from the beach.
- Nhà hàng Vua Hải Sản — 4.8 from 2,087. A large seafood restaurant in the Bai Dai shophouses.
