There are many opportunities on Phu Quoc to remain fit and active. In the center of Duong Dong Town lies the multipurpose Sports and Cultural center. Here you will find a small theater, gym, tennis courts, basketball courts, badminton courts, a children's play center, and a snack bar.

Action Sports On Phu Quoc
Being a tropical island, Phu Quoc has no shortage of competitive and adrenalin filled activities to get your heart racing. Here are some of our favorites:
Along North Long Beach and Starfish beach there are a couple of places where you can rent a jet ski and scoot across the ocean to your heart’s content. The waves are normally calm enough for you to ride by yourself or with a partner, but you can also request a driver to use his expertise to give you a more exciting experience.
The calm water around the North Long Beach and Sao Beach provides ideal conditions for a sea kayaking adventure. At Vung Bau Beach, you can kayak to nearby Fingernail Island. The boat traffic in the sea during the day is almost nonexistent so you do not have to worry about collision.

You can also take a scenic kayak adventure along the Cua Can river and into the Phu Quoc protected forest, winding your way through various ecosystems while giving your arms a great workout. Keep an eye out for horn bills up in the trees!
Most resorts that do carry kayaks offer them for free to their guests. If you are not staying at a resort that has kayaks, you can rent them at the following places:
North Long Beach:
Rory’s – 150,000VND per hour
Sao Beach:
My Lan Resort
Vung Bau Beach:
Vung Bau Beach Resort – 100,000VND per hour
Surfing is only possible during the rainy season when the water is more rough. A consistent surf-able wave can be found at Dai Beach, however these are just simple waves good for a long board. You can body surf during the rainy season as well at North Long Beach, Ong Lang Beach, and Dai Beach.
Skim boarding on sand is possible all year round and it is one of the most fun, fastest growing, small sports for all ages.
Kite surfing is an adventure water sport that combines elements of surfing, wake boarding, windsurfing and paragliding into one thoroughly exciting sport. Currently there are no shops setup for kite-surfing on Phu Quoc as of 2014 but that will change soon.
If you have your own kite, then head over to Starfish Beach where there is a decent amount of wind to kite surf along the flat calm turquoise water.
The only place that offers sailing is at the VinPearl Resort. Dinghy style sailboats can be rented with our without a sailor.
Towed behind a speedboat and firmly attached to a parachute like wing, parasailing offers a unique mix of excitement and relaxation, from the initial “whoosh” of takeoff to the relaxing breeze through the air as you get to experience unrivaled views of the island. As of 2014, VinPearl resort is the only resort offering parasailing on Phu Quoc.
If you love tennis then Phu Quoc island will not disappoint you. There are plenty of courts located in Duong Dong Town and North Long Beach for you to get your swing on. Saigon Phu Quoc Resort, Vinpearl, Blue Lagoon, and Thein Hai Son Resort are resorts that have hard tennis courts. If you are not staying at any of the above resorts you can pay hourly at Saigon Phu Quoc Resort to use their courts (see below)

There are also 3 public courts available in town at the Duong Dong Sports Center.
If you like playing billiards (pool) then there are a few resorts and bars around to have a game or two. Most bars along North Long Beach on Tran Hung Dao street have a pool table. You can also find a billiards table in all the major towns and villages as the locals also enjoy this sport (game). Long Beach Village has a new pool hall/bar that will open in late 2014.
Most of the four and five star hotels have an in house gym. There is also a public gym in Duong Dong town at the Duong Dong sports center.
As of 2014, world class golf is now available at Phu Quoc at the Vinpearl Golf Club. The 27 holes, par 108, 7280 yards (first 18 holes) + 3558 yards (last 9 holes), and with a total area of 100 ha, the Vinpearl golf course will satisfy all your golfing needs. If you want to practice your drive or your putting/chipping then head over to Saigon Phu Quoc Resort which has a driving net and a putting green, but these are available for guests only.
Two additional course, one near South Long Beach and the other near Sao Beach (Sonasea Golf), are currently being developed and should be ready for the 2015 – 2016 tourist season.
If you enjoy playing beach volleyball on the sand next to the ocean then there are a few places to get your game on. At North Long Beach you can enjoy beach volleyball at the following places: Nhat Lan Resort, Thien Hai Son Resort, and La Veranda Resort. At Starfish Beach you will find a beach volleyball court setup next to Gecko Jacks Resort. There are also nets on Vung Bau Beach and Ong Lang Beach. If you are looking for competitive play, head to North Long Beach.
Eager to jump around in the sand to get some much needed exercise, there's a couple of volleyball nets making an appearance on Long Beach, one in front of Thien Hai Son Resort, sometimes in front of Saigon Phu Quoc Resort and a couple further down long beach.
There is Yoga on the island! Jungle Yoga offered by Ecological Resorts is the first Yoga studio on Phu Quoc. They teach and train all levels of Yoga.
