Hon Mot Island is a tiny island located 200 meters off the coast of Bai Thom Village in Bai Thom Commune. It is connected to Phu Quoc Island, the largest island in the Phu Quoc Archipelago, by a small man-made bridge. The original land bridge was made out of stone but has now been replaced by a rickety wooden bridge nicknamed “monkey bridge” by some locals. The water level between Hòn Một and Phu Quoc Island is very low and you can walk between the two islands without using the bridge, if you are so bold.
On the island you will find a snack bar, a small trail that goes around the island, and a few picnic areas. Surrounding the island is a scattered patch of coral that is perfect for snorkeling. The entrance fee to the island is free.
